Willclare Cricket Club

Welcome to the Willclare Cricket Club website.
We started life in 1928, when a group of workers in the stores of the Post Office got together and started playing cricket in their spare time. This then snowballed with more interest from other departments (factory and Engineering based at the old Fordrough Lane factory in Bordsley Green) joining in with the fun culminating with the formation of the Post Office Stores Cricket Club.
In 1929 with the help of the Civil Service Sports Council, they bought a plot of land on Willclare Road Sheldon. It was also that year they became a founder member of the Midland Works & Business Houses Cricket League.
